The Möhne rises at an altitude of around 400 meters on the Brilon plateau in the Sauerland and flows through a wide floodplain in narrow meanders, bordered by the Arnsberg Forest in the south, before flowing into the Ruhr as a right tributary at Neheim-Hüsten after almost 70 km.
