The deep idyll is only rarely interrupted on this river trip from Oberuckersee to Uckermünde on the Szczecin Lagoon. For example, when aquatic plants suddenly cover the entire surface of the water and you have to concentrate fully on paddling.

The tour begins in the Uckermark in the federal state of Brandenburg, but then runs for the most part in Western Pomerania. The Ucker, later Uecker, runs quite remotely for long stretches. Its banks are mainly lined with reeds. After a short time, you become one with the river and can literally feel it. Occasionally, you look for the best channel through the water plants, explore weed barriers or tie the boat to the boat trolley and navigate around a riverbed slide or a weir. Necessary exits are all very welcome, as they are often a long-awaited opportunity to take a break. People spend the night in the villages through which the river flows, otherwise they tend to stay away from the river. In addition to small and large birds, it is mostly anglers who can be found on the banks watching the water.

What is important when paddling on the tour Ucker alias Uecker to consider?

Hiking river, lake, shipping route. With the exception of the Prenzlau city passage, the entire route can be navigated with hiking boats all year round. If you start above Prenzlau, you will need land transportation from Unteruckersee to the launching point and water hiking rest area 'An den Baumzwillingen Prenzlau' at the northern end of Prenzlau. It is not possible to pass through Prenzlau as there is hardly any water in the river bed. There is also generally too little water for towing, as the river bed is stony. There are few opportunities to get out along the route, so watch out for weirs and weed barriers.
