Chic restaurants, sophisticated marinas, luxury clinics and golf courses are just as much a part of this lake as quiet bathing spots. However, the fairytale king Ludwig II mysteriously lost his life here on June 13, 1886. Long before that, the Wittelsbach family had their summer residence on Lake Starnberg. Later, many celebrities followed. For paddlers, this lake is almost an insider tip; you can only get to the most beautiful shores by boat or SUP and experience a particularly interesting part of Bavaria.
