Alz

The Alz is the only outlet of Lake Chiemsee and a right tributary of the Inn. For a large part of the route, the mostly calm waters wind their way through a hilly moraine landscape. In the first half of the year, navigation is prohibited between Seebruck and Altenmarkt due to nesting birds in the extensive reed beds. But in spring, when the water level is good, the Alz below the Altenmarkt waterfalls offers a varied trip to the mouth of the Inn. Only a few paddlers know this section.
