This little-known canoe route begins in Donauwörth and ends in picturesque Neuburg. Both towns entice those interested in culture to stay a little longer. But it is the floodplain in particular that knows how to inspire us paddlers. Lush riparian forests line the Danube, with traffic routes only rarely getting in the way. White storks, grey and great white herons, kingfishers, cormorants and beavers populate the banks, fish such as zander and huchen feel at home in the Danube waters and 40 species of orchid sprout in the forests.
