Paddle tour: Lusatian Neisse

Forst was known as a cloth-making town for many years. There were once up to 56 cloth factories - Forst was nicknamed the "German Manchester". The Brandenburg Textile Museum was opened in one of these disused cloth factories in 1995. As the name suggests, it mainly provides information on the history of the cloth-making trade, but also includes exhibitions on the town's history and special exhibitions. The Neisse has formed the German-Polish border since 1945 and since 2007, when Poland joined the Schengen Agreement, canoeing has been possible without prior registration.
