On the most beautiful part of the Rhine, we paddle our way through the deeply incised valley, lined with lovely vineyards, rocks and forests, a vibrant and picturesque cultural landscape - and the Loreley Rock.

From what is perhaps the most scenic part of the Rhine, the breakthrough through the Rhenish Slate Mountains, this route runs for almost 100 km from Mainz to Koblenz. Coming from the Upper Rhine Plain, the Rhine reaches a deeply incised, romantic valley near Bingen, surrounded by wooded or rocky slopes and lovely, ancient vineyards. Its swift course is accompanied by countless castles and ruins, and on its banks are towns with picturesque half-timbered houses, defensive walls, towers and old monasteries **AND** wine taverns and inns serving local drinks and dishes.
